Etsy Store reopened!

I’m proud to announce that the Etsy store is now reopened! The store now features two new mini comics for purchasing that debuted at Stumptown Comics Fest this year! (I’ll be making a longer post about Stumptown soon.) So, click the link at the top to connect to my Etsy store where you can buy some of my fine mini comics, and I’ll have them shipped right to your front door!

Blacked Out 2 is a solid 24 pages that continues the story of Gus, a college slacker and drinker who discovers that the more he drinks the more powerful he becomes. Gus meets up with the mysterious redneck Jack who offers to train him to use his abilities. Blacked Out 2 (as well as Blacked Out 1) can be yours for a mere 3 dollars each!

Sydney Sage: Extreme Exterminator is a collection of short stories and illustrations. They feature Sydney, who tackles the pest problems that a too tough for the normal exterminators to handle. Sydney face off against ninjas, zombie rats, and giant snakes in this issue, which features a yellowed paper and an awesome, shiny gold cover. Sydney Sage: Extreme Exterminator can be purchased for 4 dollars each! A bargain for 28 pages of action and adventure!

So, check out the Etsy store and get yourself some comics that you can hold in your hands!

Blacked OUT issue 2 and Stumptown Comics Fest!

Heya!

This is a non art update, but a big news one though! Blacked Out’s second issue is complete, and will be debuting at the Stumptown Comics Fest in Portland, OR on April 27th and 28th. And after the show, it’ll be available for purchase on my Etsy site (which I’ll be re-opening then as well).

I most say that this is my best work yet, and I hope you all enjoy it. It’s a solid 24 pages of comic goodness (I’ll post up a few more pages when Stumptown gets closer). I plan on making the third issue much quicker than the second one took, so fingers crossed! I’d like to have it complete by the end of summer. I’m finishing up and cleaning the script for it right now.

For the immediate future though, I’ll be working on a new Sydney Sage story, and when that’s complete, the extreme exterminator will finally debut in comic form! And for some of the die hard fans of Quetros, I think I’ll be posting a few new pages soon as well.

Looking forward to seeing some people in person at Stumptown!

Sydney!

Hello! It’s been awhile, but I’m still working away on Blacked Out! In the meantime though, I wanted to share a new Sydney Sage illustration:

Sydney Sage

I did this as a present for my sister, and it was a lot of fun. The lizard/dragon changed many times before this final incarnation. I was going to go crazy and put in more ninjas and a background but it was starting to look really busy, so I dropped them out for a more graphic look since it will be hanging on a wall (I hope!). Anyway, enjoy, and I’ll be making more posts more often. At least to just let you know that I’m still around and still making art.

Here’s a little preview for the upcoming Blacked Out second issue! Gus is back and ready to begin his training under the watchful eye of Jack.

Also, be sure to pick up the first issue at my Etsy store if you haven’t already! It’s hands down my favorite work to date, and issue two is shaping up to be even better! And, I’m hoping to debut it at Stumptown Comics Fest 2013 in April, along with another comic (Miss Sage’s debut!) that very close to being completed!

The Man on the Dock!

I did a Halloween themed four page comic for the online anthology over at Stories for the End! I’m happy with how it turned out overall, as I was trying to experiment with some new inking techniques. Some worked, others need some additional refinement. So, you can read it here, and enjoy it as the fall season heads towards its conclusion!

Blacked OUT #1: Reviewed!

It’s always exciting, and scary, to send out your comics to some reviewers and see what they think about your latest comics. You wonder if they’ll like it, or if your work is going to be misunderstood or seen as being weaker than you thought. But, all that waiting and anticipation is worth it, once you get some reviews that are pretty positive!

The first review was done over at Optical Sloth by Whitey. I can honestly say that it was both the most flattering statements that I’ve received about the general direction of my comics and career path, and a positive review of Blacked OUT! But you can read it yourself over here: Blacked OUT #1 Review. And while you’re there, be sure to check out some other comic reviews and see what other great comics are out in the world.

The second review is at the Poopsheet Foundation by Justin. It’s a quick review, but is pretty positive about the comic and it’s general direction. Give it a read here: Blacked OUT #1 Review. And if you’re unaware, the Poopsheet Foundation is a great networking place for comic creators, and is definitely worth looking around for all the comic reviews and creators that are present on the site.

Well, I’m ready to start drawing up the second issue now! You can pick up the first issue at my Etsy store for a mere 3 dollars plus shipping, which isn’t too outrageous, AND I’ll probably doodle on the back cover.

The finale of Sydney Sage: A Heart’s Desires!

This was another fun story (inking that snake was a major pain and super tedious, but totally worth the end result), and I’m really starting to fall for this character. She’s tons of fun to write and draw, so expect to see more of Sydney Sage in the future, and perhaps more characters such as Riley, as the world of the extreme exterminator continues to get fleshed out.

But, keep checking back in for more comics and illustrations!
