My upcoming convention schedule is as follows:
Feb 17th – 19th: MegaCon in Orlando, FL
Apr 21st: Fluke in Athens, GA
Apr 28th + 29th: Stumptown in Portland, OR
While the list is rather small at the moment, I’ll be updating it as I decide which additional conventions to attend. But the three listed, I have tables at and will be there! Or dead, but most likely there, sitting at a table trying to sell people comic goodness. And since, the list is so tiny, I’ll go ahead and comment a little on each convention, and why you should track me down and see me there!
MegaCon!
This was the first convention I ever tabled at last year, and unbeknownst to me, it would be the birthplace for Jetpack Shark. I created that jetpack-wearing, nazi-killing shark on a whim for a periodic heroes update, and turned the doodle into a comic. So, I’ll be proudly debuting: JETPACK SHARK VOLUME ONE. I’m almost done with it, just one more image to get draw, and then I’ll be printing it out. I’m not sure the price yet, but it’ll be 20 pages, and under five buck depending on the cost of printing. So, look for a jetpack shark banner, and buy the comic from the guy with the silly beard (me). I’ll be sketching and such too, so don’t be shy! Also, I’ll be tabling again with recent father and all around talented and page churning Phillip Sevy. If it’s half as fun as last year, it’ll still be an amazing time. I highly recommend going to MegaCon, if you’re remotely close to the Orlando area.
FLUKE
I’ve heard so many positive experiences from everyone that’s gone to Fluke in the past, that I have to go now. Especially, when I found out they got a bar and everything in the con. Beer and comics? You know I’m on board. I should also have either a Blacked OUT mini comic or a Sydney Sage mini comic to be selling alongside Jetpack Shark Volume One by this convention. I believe I will be tabling with the talented Emi Gennis. As she’s a seasoned Fluke attendant and will point me to the bar. Also, check out her website and enjoy some morbid and intense stories about people dying in all sorts of ridiculous ways, like via bear.
Stumptown Comics Fest
I’m really excited to be attending Stumptown. I feel pretty humbled and honored to be selected to table, and it’ll not only my first west coast convention, but the furthest west I’ve ever been, so yeah. It’ll be a blast. I’ll have a bunch of mini comics and such to sell, maybe some t-shirts or random merchandise in addition to my typical comics to sell. Emi Gennis will be sitting at my table as well, with a whole bunch of Spaz! comics, so yeah, buy our stuff and hang out with us in Portland. Neither one of us has any experience in the Portland area, so some recommendations of places to drink/eat and things to do would be greatly appreciated.
